PANTONE es una empresa norteamericana creadora del PMS (Pantone Matching System), el cual es un sistema que te permite identificar colores para impresión por medio de códigos. Nos proporciona un lenguaje universal de color que permite tomar decisiones de color crítico en cada etapa del flujo de trabajo para marcas y fabricantes.
1. FAN DECK:
El fan deck es una guía de PANTONE que te permite pasar las páginas, voltear, elegir y comparar todos los colores.
2. CHIP BOOK:
Un libro rectangular con fichas de colores en carpetas, un catálogo de los colores PANTONE.
Pantone Machine System, es el formato con el cual se van numerando los colores de PANTONE.
4. COATED:
Los colores coated son aquellos que se ven en un papel recubierto, en una superficie lisa y brillante.
Los colores uncoated son aquellos que están en un papel sin recubrimiento, aparecen más ligeros y con menos intensidad.
6. FORMULA GUIDE:
Es el conjunto de guías de PANTONE que incluye más de 1,800 valores de colores coated y uncoated.
7. COLOR BRIDGE:
Una guía que incluye los números PMS, las formulaciones de tinta, valores de color CMYK, HEX y RGB.
8. SPOT COLOR:
Los colores planos son mucho más uniformes que los colores primarios (CMYK), por lo que estos se utilizan para un color universalmente consistente.
9. CMYK:
Las siglas CMYK significan: cian, magenta, amarillo y negro. CMYK es impresión a cuatro colores.
10. PROCESS COLOR:
Creado con impresión a cuatro colores: CMYK. Las ilustraciones se separan en cuatro colores diferentes y son conocidos como tintes te de pantalla.
11. GAMUT:
Gamut es la gama de colores que se pueden imprimir, los colores CMYK tienen menos de una gama de tonalidades.
12. RGB:
Rojo, verde y azul. RGB es un sistema de color que representa los colores en las pantallas, es utilizado principalmente para medios digitales.
13. HEX:
Los valores hexadecimales son un conjunto de seis números y letras que comienzan con un hashtag (#). Es utilizado para representar los colores en computación.
14. ADDITIVE COLOR:
Un recubrimiento hecho a partir de la mezcla de diferentes colores hechos de luz. Los monitores de las computadoras y las televisiones utilizan los colores aditivos.
15. SUBTRACTIVE:
Son los colores hechos mediante la mezcla de pigmentos, tintas y tintes. Estos colores se mezclan y restan entre ellos mismos.
16. PASTEL:
La guía de Colores Pastel de Pantone viene en versiones coated y uncoated e incluye 154 colores pasteles suaves.
La guía de colores neon cuenta con 50 colores intensos, sus mezclas y fórmulas.
Decenas de colores metálicos que hacen las fórmulas de los colores de impresión como el oro, bronce y plata.
El indicador de iluminación de PANTONE es una herramienta que nos ayuda a combinar los colores bajo la mejor luz posible.
20. CAPSURE:
El Pantone Capuse es como un dispositivo bluetooth habilitado para captar colores, esta herramienta nos sirve para identificar y copiar colores de casi cualquier superficie.
